Hi there,
I have recently tried to install SQL Server 2000 (64-bit) MS03-031 (on Windo
ws Server 2003 64-bit)
When I restart the system, the SQL server service does not restart, an error
message pops-up with 'ERROR Access is denied'. When I inspect the service
manager, there are no services available in the drop down box.
I thought this might be a problem with the administrator login/pass within t
he service startup properties, changed them to local machine and still no lu
ck.
Has anyone else experienced this or could tell me why the access is denied o
n the service?
Many thanks
DuncanDo the event logs or the SQL Server error log provide any additional
information? Try using regmon and filemon from www.sysinternals.com
(assuming they work on 64-bit) to see what file or regkey is involved in
the error.
